Ukhanyo Farmer Development NPO is a youth owned, women led commercial grain development entity.
ABOUT.
WHY WE EXIST
VISION & MISSION.
Our primary focus is to commercialise small-scale rural farmers through our strong technical assistance & mentorship, skills development and subsidisation of input costs.
Over and above our existing farmers, we have a specific focus on empowering women and youth, as we believe they have the potential to unlocking the agricultural growth and sustainability within the province.
FOCUS AREA
EASTERN CAPE.
As an NPO, UFD currently supports over 2000 farmers in 5 districts across the Eastern Cape province namely: OR Tambo, Chris Hani, Amathole, Joe Gqabi and Alfred Nzo.
These districts are areas where commercial grain production has the potential to expand, create jobs and build sustainable livelihoods for communities. We are fully functional in 10 local municipalities and have strong working relationships with our District and Local Municipalities in these areas.

UN GOALS
SUSTAINABILITY.
The uniqueness of our proposition is not just limited to undertaking farmer development as a capacity building programme, but to stimulate market mechanisms as channels for long-term economic development.
This means that the total support for the farmer is to transform farming from merely subsistence and smallholder activity to sustainable commercial farming with a multiplier effect on employment and expansion in economic activities in rural communities.
